Trouble Makers Must Have A Change Of Heart � Police Commander

The Konongo Police Divisional Commander, Superintendent Bossman Ohene-Boadi, has warned anybody planning to foment trouble in the area on voting day to have a change of heart.

He indicated that the police reaction - to neutralize any threat to the peace would be swift and decisive.

He gave the assurance that there would be strong security presence and protection for everybody, adding that, no voter or election official would be intimidated and terrorized by any hired political thugs.

Supt Ohene-Boadi gave the warning at public forum held in Odumase for candidates contesting next month’s parliamentary polls in the Asante-Akim Central constituency.

The goal was to provide the opportunity for the contestants to share their development vision – what they would be doing to bring progress to the area, with voters to aid them to make the right decision at the ballot.

The programme was organized by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) with funding from the European Union (EU).

Supt Ohene-Boadi said adequate measures had been put in place to make sure that the conduct of the election was peaceful, smooth and successful.

He told the gathering that they had the required logistics to effectively perform their mandate of ensuring law and order.
The Divisional Commander said he was confident that all would go well and that the people would conduct themselves properlys.

He said the election security task force had been actively engaging and deepening the conversation with the leadership of the political parties to help all to get right with the law.
