Some security personnel in the Upper East Region who were denied the opportunity to vote are threatening to vacate their post on the main Election Day, December 7 if they are not allowed to vote Thursday.

The ongoing Special Voting exercise seems to be rocked with confusion as some qualified voters including security officers have not been able to locate their names since morning.

The situation according to our reporters have caused chaos, confusion and uncertainty as many believe their names may be expunged from the main register, robbing them of the ability to vote on Dec 7.

Reports trickling in from our reporters across the country indicate that, the anomalies are not restricted to a particular area but they are widespread nationwide.

The security officers have expressed worry over the entire process as their names were not found in the register.

They have accused the EC Officials of deliberately taking their names off the list to disenfranchise them.

Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Tema East Titus Glover is also not pleased with the process and is calling on all heads of the various security agencies to ensure that those who did not vote in the special voting allowed to vote December 7.

Also, NDC parliamentary candidate for Anyaa Sowutuom constituency, David Nii Braide is asking for an extension for special voting to Friday to enable all those qualified to vote.
