The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced allowances for Electoral Officials for the December 7, Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

In a statement signed by Ms Georgina Opoku Amankwaa, EC Deputy Chairperson in Charge of Corporate Services on behalf the Chairperson directed that the Election Day feeding must be given to the entitled officers in cash to enable them arrange for their own feeding a day before the elections.

The statement issued in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency indicated that Returning Officers were to be paid GH₵ 800.00 per month; Deputy Returning Officers GH₵ 700.00 and Collation Officers GH₵ 700.00 flat.

It said Technicians were entitled to GH₵500.00 flat; Presiding Officers GH₵ 400.00 flat and feeding allowance of GH₵30.00.

Verification Officers and Name Reference List Officer are to be paid GH₵ 350 flat for ration and GH₵ 30.00 for feeding, whilst those in charge of Ballot Issue  are entitled to a ration of GH₵ 300.00 flat and feeding fee of GH₵ 30.00.
