Ayawaso Central Will See Development - Aspiring NDC MP

The aspiring Member of Parliament for Ayawaso Central on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. William Afum Ani-Agyei has assured that the constituency will see development in sports and sanitation when voted in power.

Mr. Agyei, popularly known as ‘Obama’ is contesting against incumbent, Mr. Henry Quartey of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Ayawaso Central Constituency seat in the upcoming December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mr. Affum stated that he has already established initiatives to develop pitches like the Atta Nii Park in Ayibuki and others. He intends to solicit for funds to help develop pitches and other lesser known sports to unearth talents in the constituency.

He also pledged to deal with issues of sanitation in his constituency to ensure hygienic conditions in all communities especially at the Malam Atta Market saying ‘‘sanitation is my topmost priority’’

“Although I am not the MP, I have putting up initiatives to develop a pitch in Ayibuki where the youth play football. If I become a Member of Parliament I will be able to solicit funds to put up pitches for them and not only in football but also table tennis, volley ball and other disciplines.”

In terms of providing employment for the youth, Mr. Affum expressed concern to organize seminars to empower the youth to go into business. He also promised to give loans at reasonable interest rate and in order bring in investors to assist.

He said “people think as long as they go through the educational system from the university they should be engaged in the public sector. What I intend doing is to find loans at reasonable interest rate so that those willing to go into the private businesses will be supported. I also hope to bring in investors outside the country to provide assistance.”

He called on qualified voters in the constituency to vote for him and the NDC party for development in the country.
