NDC Youth To Lead An Operation Vote-Out-Incumbent-Executives Campaign

Young Cadres Association (YCA) in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Agona Swedru of the Central Region have launched an operation vote-against-incumbent-national-executives who will seeking re-election in their party's primaries.

The group believes the incumbent executives after this humiliating defeat of President John Mahama in the just ended elections do not have the moral courage to lead the party.

President Mahama suffered a humiliating defeat after he polled just 44.40% of the total valid votes cast as against 53.85% of his main contender, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Majority of the NDC Members of Parliament also lost their seats. This development political pundits said is the worst performance in the history of the ruling party. The leadership of the NDC has been urged to re-group and take stock to prevent another defeat in future elections.

But General Secretary of the group, Bright Botchway at a press conference Tuesday insisted he would make sure that none of incumbent executives is selected.

He indicated that, if both the regional and national executives after all the resources failed to secure victory then they are not capable of leading the party to victory in 2016. “It's a pity to note that an exercise where youth of the country were to be mobilized to win votes for the NDC could not be supported only for monies to be given to celebrities who ended up making mockery of our national  executives” he added.

Mr Botchway said explanations by the leadership for the party's defeat in the December 7 general elections were untenable. “We need to learn from this and l believe next time if a party member comes with an initiative, he or she would be supported" he stressed.

He therefore called on all members across the country to vote massively against these executives and vote for competent executives for victory 2020.
