Chairman Bugri Warns NPP Youth

The Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu has warned supporters of the party in the Northern Region to desist from attacking supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and seizing government properties.

According to him, when the NDC won power in 2008, their youth seized toilets and NADMO offices.

He condemned the closure of the offices of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Damongo by some NPP youth and appealed to them to desist from that practice.

He indicated that Nana Addo administration would create jobs for them.

Some supporters of the NPP in the Damongo West Gonja District in the Northern Region on Saturday also locked down the district offices of NADMO and YEA.

Mr Naabu said he was able to prevent an attack on the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) office and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) office in Tamale by NPP supporters last Saturday.

He stated the NPP government cannot work effectively without peace in the region, adding that the NPP youth should be careful because the party would definitely go to opposition in future.

“I have retired the NDC party in the Northern Region forever because I would make sure that there are jobs for the youth, and if there are jobs and everything is moving smoothly, nobody would want to change government.

The outspoken chairman indicated that Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the Vice President-elect and economist, would effectively economy of the country to create jobs for the youth in the country.

Chairman Bugri disclosed that Nana Addo administration would implement the one-district one-factory and one-village one-dam policies to create jobs for the youth.

“There would be yam factory, yam market and watermelon factory in the region, I can assure you that’.

He thanked the people of the Northern Region for coming out in their numbers to vote massively for the NPP and assured them that his door would be opened for everyone in the region no matter his or her political or tribal affiliations.

The Northern Regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah warned the youth in the Northern Region to stop the seizure of government properties.

According to him, those party supporters who are going round stealing government properties are depriving their relatives of resources.

DCOP Ken Yeboah stated that the police would arrest anybody who violate the laws of the country.

“If you do anything unlawfully, straight away I will take you to prison,” he said.

He urged the youth to report any person who steals or takes anything that belongs to the state unlawfully to the police.
