Tamale Hospital Workers Hail Gov�t Move

Workers and authorities of the Tamale Teaching Hospital have expressed joy about the announcement that cabinet has given approval of a 28 million Euro loan for the rehabilitation of the hospital. Dr Ken Sagoe, Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, who disclosed this to the press in Tamale yesterday, said �this is indeed a welcome news to us in the hospital�. He commended the government for the approval of the loan and appealed to members of parliament to approve it. It is my fervent hope that parliament would treat it with the urgency that it deserves that approving it,� Dr Sagoe said. The Chief Executive said when the work on the hospital is completed it will alleviate the suffering of both workers and patients. World, on the facility include rehabilitation of the old tower block, four storey block, transfer unit and the theater block which starts this December. Dr Sagoe stressed that all drawings and necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth work. He also hinted that plans have been put in place to ensure that patients visiting the hospital for check-ups are catered for whilst the rehabilitation works go on. Dr Sagoe pledged the authority�s readiness to assist any contractor who wins the bid to rehabilitate it.
