Dr. Akoto Would Be The Best Minister To Implement One District, One Factory

A Pro-NPP Group, Three Northern Youths For Development says it is delighted at the news that the outgoing Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has been penciled for the Agric Ministry.

Some list making round on social media purported to be first batch of ministers under the incoming NPP administration puts the former MP and Agric economist, Hon. Dr. Afriyie Akoto, at the Agriculture Ministry.

According to the group, no individual in the NPP is more qualified to handle the Agriculture Ministry more than Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie who has an undisputable experience in Agriculture and issues related to Agro-economy.

In a statement issued and signed by its Coordinator, Halidu Suleiman, the group pointed out that with the incoming government's promise to undertake the One District, One Factory, a lot will depend on the efficiency of the Agric sector which still remains a critical contributor to the economy.

The group observed that it will require someone with high level of expertise in the industry to enable the government's policy materialize.

"We know Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto is an astute farmer and Agric economist who has wide experience in critical areas such as cocoa production, food production amongst others," the group observed.

They observed that a successful implementation of the One District, One Factory Policy will help develop particularly the three northern regions and ensure that the youth have access to job opportunities.

The group said it was for this reason that they will welcome the nomination of Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto to the Agriculture Ministry with the hope that he will use his experience to revamp the sector and make it a more relevant contributor to the country's economy.
