Zabzugu Youth Demand Newly Elected NDC MP To Step Down

Some youth of Zabzugu in the Northern Region are calling on NDC Member of Parliament, Mr. Alhassan Umar popularly known as Abako to step down with immediate effect.

According them, the newly elected MP holds a dual citizenship so there he is not qualified for the position he was voted for.

In a press statement copied to Peace FM; the youth noted that “Umar Alhassan since 1993 has lived in the USA with his entire family. We have evidence to prove that Umar Alhassan is not fit for the position because his nationality is questionable.”

They however called on the right authority to with immediate effect probe Mr. Alhassan Umar before they take any action against him.

However, Mr. Alhassan Umar in an interview with PEACE NEWS said “I no longer hold two passports. Anyone who has evidence that I hold two passports should prove that to the public.”
