Namoale To Contest NDC Flagbearership If . . .

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amassah Namoale has stated that he will contest the flagbearership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next party primary ahead of the 2020 general election.

The former MP speaking in an interview on Tuesday said he was prepared to lead the party into the 2020 elections and would gladly contest the flagbearership slot when nominations are opened.
“2020 Nii Amassah Namoale would contest for the presidency, if Professor Joshua Alabi is not contesting,” he said.

Nii Namoale however emphasised that he would rescind his decision to contest the slot if only Professor Joshua Alabi decides to contest the flagbearer of the NDC.

Nii Amassah Namoale lost the La Dadekotopon seat in the December 2016 to former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Accra Hearts of Oak, Vincent Sowah Odotei who stood on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

Nii Namoale noted for making controversial remarks on radio polled 38,504 votes as against the former football administrator’s 40,126 votes.

He was born on July 14, 1958 and hails from La-Accra in the Greater Accra Region.
