Nana Boakye has urged Sammy Awuku not to pick up any government appointment.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme, Nana Boakye noted that it would be prudent for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Youth Organizer to remain at the party headquarters.

He believed Sammy Awuku's post at the party headquarters will boost the fortunes of the government.

According to him, Sammy Awuku played a pivotal role in the victory of the NPP government and so would support Mr. Awuku to use his resources to help solidify the party for Agenda 2020.

Nana Boakye, a member of the NPP Communications team who doubles as a Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Secretariat added that he wouldn't also fault Mr. Awuku if he decides to go for a position in the Akufo-Addo government but he expressed a strong conviction that his colleague would do well at the party headquarters.

“I will support him if he takes such decision. Because there’s no way if Sammy says Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo should push him somewhere, Nana will disappoint him but if Sammy also decides that no, the party birthed the government. The party is bigger. And the ruling party Youth Organizer who has brought the party to government, we’re behind him if he decides," he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
