NPA Emerges The Africa Downstream Regulator Of The Year

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has been bestowed with the Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL) Downstream Regulator of the Year 2016 in Africa Award.

“The award commends the NPA for its robust regulatory environment and remarkable navigation of total deregulation of its petroleum industry,” a statement signed by Mr Benjamin Sekyere Owusu, the Communication Officer of NPA, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said.

The statement said the award, which was presented to Mr Hassan Tampuli, the Chief Executive Officer of NPA, on the sidelines of the International Petroleum (IP) Week in London, United Kingdom, was in recognition of the NPA’s efforts at sanitising the downstream industry in Ghana and creating a level playing field for all operators involved in the sector.

It said NPA was responsible for the robust regulatory environment which had been witnessed in Ghana’s downstream sector recently and the award was a confirmation of its resilient efforts aimed at sanitising the downstream industry in Ghana and creating a level playing field for all operators involved in the sector.

“OTL Downstream Energy Awards celebrate excellence, innovation, industry and achievement in downstream petroleum business; they symbolise the industry’s seal of approval and honour.

“The awards are in recognition of true value added efforts being made by organisations and persons in business, policy and social responsibility towards achieving industry growth,” the statement said.
