Cape Coast Ministries Turn Into Death Trap

Ministries at Cape Coast in the Central Region are in a deplorable state.

The storey building, with three entry points, which was built during General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong’s era in 1972 is where most of government businesses in the region is conducted, but it is in deplorable condition putting the lives of workers in danger.

The only time the building was even painted was when the ex-president of the United States of America, Barack Obama visited Ghana in 2009 and decided to visit the Cape Coast castle.

The five Storey Building with about 150 offices; among these are the, Controller and Accountant - General's Department, Community Development, Non - Formal and Formal Education Division, Business Advisory Centre, Center for National Culture, Ghana Health Service, Ghana News Agency (GNA), Small Scale Advisory Board, Information Service Department, Audit Service, Ghana Education Service, Cocobod, Ghana Immigration Service etc.

When Peace FM reporter Sally Ngissah visited the place some iron rods were exposed posing danger to lives.

Cracks had developed all over the building, serving as a death trap.

The building also leaks badly any time it rains, the main switch to the building has rusted with some wires dangerously naked.
