Kwame Takyi Named New Immigration Service Boss

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in pursuant to Section 14 (1) of the Immigration Service Act, 2016 (Act 908) has appointed Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi as the Acting Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

This was contained in a statement signed by Mrs Adelaide Anno-Kumi, Chief Director, Ministry of the Interior on behalf of Mr Ambrose Dery, the Sector Minister.

The statement said Mr Laud Kwasi Ofori Affrifah has also been appointed as the Acting Deputy Comptroller-General.

The statement said pending their confirmation in accordance with Article 195 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, the appointment of Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi takes effect from March 1, 2017 and that of Mr Laud Kwasi Ofori Affrifah from March 10, 2017.

It said Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi takes over from Mr Felix Yaw Sarpong who is currently on terminal leave prior to compulsory retirement.

The statement said Mr Laud Kwasi Ofori Affrifah also takes over from Mr Bonaventure Kwasi Agortimevor who is currently on terminal leave prior to compulsory retirement.

It said Mrs Judith Djokoto-Lomoh remains the Deputy Comptroller-General responsible for Finance and Administration.

It said Mrs Victoria Ninette Baaba Asare remains Deputy-Comptroller-General, Legal.
