President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, pursuant to Section 17 (1) of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Act, 2016 (Act 927) has appointed Mr Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh as the NADMO Acting Director-General.
A statement signed by Mrs Adelaide Anno-Kumi, the Chief Director of the Ministry of the Interior on behalf of Mr Ambrose Dery, the Sector Minister and copied to the Ghana News Agency indicated.
The statement said Mr Petere Wuni Baaga and Mr Abu Ramadan have also been appointed as the Acting Deputy Director-General.
The statement said Mr Archibald Cobbinah has been appointed as the Acting Greater Accra Regional Coordinator whilst Mr Kwabena Nsenkyire has been appointed as the Acting Ashanti Regional Coordinator.
It said their appointments take effect, pending their confirmation in accordance with Article 195 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
It said pursuant to Section 7 (1) (a) of the National Disaster Management Organisation Act 2016 (Act 217), President Akufo-Addo has also appointed Brigadier-General K Opong-Kyekyeku as Chairman of the National Disaster Management Organisation pending confirmation in consultation with Council of State.
