Pressure is gradually mounting on the two Deputy Chief Executives of the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) to resign because of the alleged roles they played for the NDC in the 2016 general elections.

According to some concerned workers of the GNPC, Mr Thomas Manu and Kwame Ntow Amoah whose appointments came last year “were placed in those strategic positions in order to serve as gate keepers in the interest of a few”.

The Board of Directors of GNPC out of the blue, in August last year, appointed Mr Thomas Manu and Kwame Ntow Amoah as Deputy Chief Executive for exploration and production and Deputy Chief Executive for Commercial and Corporate services respectively.

However some aggrieved workers told The New Crusading GUIDE that in the interest of GNPC and Ghana “the two deputies must either resign because of their political colorisation or reassigned by management”.

“The selection of the duo was not transparent because, how can u appoint two people to such strategic positions within just a week after announcing the vacancies”, our source queried.

Mr Kwame Ntow Amoah for instance was employed as a senior officer and within a short period to the surprise of many was allegedly promoted to the position of a manager. “He was not a director yet he was again allegedly appointed as deputy CEO to have oversight responsibilities over his superiors who are directors”.

The workers who were beside themselves with rage therefore appealed to the new chief executive Mr K.K Sarpong to consult the board and reassign Mr Thomas Manu and Mr Kwame Ntow Amoah.

“Mr Alex Mould is no more the CEO but trust me, the two deputy CEOs are still there protecting his interest and so for Dr K.K Sarpong to drive the agenda of President Akufo Addo, these two people must give way,” the source told The New Crusading GUIDE.
