Traditionalist Appeals For National Traditional Day

Togbe Anaglasi, the founder of the New Gravriel Enlightenment Traditional Church in Somanya has appealed to government to institute a “Traditional Day” on the nation's calendar.

He said this would help the people to understand the principles and the objectives of traditionalists.

Togbe Anaglasi made the appeal when he spoke with the media at Somanya in the Eastern Region to denounce a statement by Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom of the Life Assembly Worship Centre in Kumasi.

Rev Andrews had challenged Nana Agradaa, a fetish priest at Sowutuom in Accra and said traditionalists, especially fetish priests and priestesses were fake, untrue worshipers of God and that he could destroy their idols.

Togbe Anaglasi said the country`s Constitution Article (1) (c) permitted freedom to practise any religion.

He vowed to take his “Kpakpaglidi” idols to Kumasi on April 8, 2017 to challenge Osofo Kyiri Abosom at the Jackson Park.
