Don't Write Off Liverpool - Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that Liverpool are not out of the race for the Premier League title despite having lost five league games already this season. The Gunners currently sit seven points ahead of Rafael Benitezs side in the table yet that gap could be reduced should the Reds beat Birmingham City tomorrow night at Anfield. Speaking to the clubs official website, Wenger insisted that Liverpool could still maintain a title challenge as the Premier League was a lot tighter this year with the top four clubs all having dropped points. I wouldnt discount Liverpool at the moment, explained the Frenchman. The problem we had last year, the others had not lost two. Now everybody has lost two, so the difference with Liverpool is not as big. The Arsenal boss also admitted that he was hoping for a draw in this afternoons clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. It will be very interesting, yes. A draw is fantastic for us. But the most important thing is that it is a good game, it is too early to calculate too much, he explained. Is it good or bad to win? Lets hope it is a good game and enjoy it. You enjoy it always when you have won your game!Arsenal beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 to move up to second place in the table yesterday with Wenger admitting he is confident that the north Londoners can reclaim the title: We are in a strong position because we have a game in hand. Lets keep strength in our belief, keep humility, and enjoy our game.
