Iduapriem Observes 2017 Thanksgiving Service

Management and Employees of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine have observed a thanksgiving service on the premises of the Mine in Tarkwa. Fifteenth- in-the series, the non-denominational thanksgiving service brought together the Mines stakeholders and employees.

Delivering her speech, Deputy Regional Minister, Mrs Gifty Kusi underscored the need for mining companies to let their presence in their host communities have positive impact.

She commended Iduapriem Mine for its numerous social interventions including their community Trust Fund projects and scholarship scheme over the years which are geared towards leaving its communities better off.

Mrs. Eugenia Kusi in her remarks re-iterated government’s efforts to ensure that illegal mining menace is curbed following the institution of a taskforce that will combat galamsey with drones.

In his sermon, Bishop of the Methodist Tarkwa, Rt. Reverend Amponsah Donkor tasked management of the mine to seek God in all aspects of mine operations.

He was full of praise for the mine in putting a thanksgiving service on the calendar of the Mine adding that the operations of the mine will increase accordingly.

According to the Managing Director of Iduapriem Mine, Jasper Musadaidzwa says the mine is committed to its value of leaving its communities better off.

This year’s thanksgiving service was under the theme “Give thanks to God for His mercies endureth forever”.
