We Want Konadu Says NDC Group

A group, the Business Supporting Businesses Association, BSBA, has thrown its weight behind former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings bid to contest the first vice chairmanship position of the ruling NDC. Mrs. Rawlings on Tuesday 10th November 2009, disclosed her intention to run for the position. Amongst several other reasons, former President Rawlings wife said the NDC they toiled to build was crumbling and its her belief that her inclusion on the National Executive Committee of the party, will help reinvigorate the partys structures she portrayed as weakening. The group, which described its membership as being made up of foot soldiers from the NDC, earlier endorsed Dr. Spio Garbrahs intention to also contest an executive position of the party. Speaking in an interview on PEACEFM during the 6pm bulletin, Baba .A. Fatau, Communications Director of the group said to assure our mother Dr. Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings of our support for the interest shown in the first vice chairmanship position of our great party, the NDC. He continued that looking at her political experience in the political landscape of this country, we know that she will bring a lot of the things on board. As if planning to position the NDC for another electoral victory in the next election which is three years away, he conceded that the party needs more of these people at this time to turn the table around for the next season, especially 2012. He gave the assurance that they will surmount all hurdles to make sure the 31st December Womens Movements President wins the race for the position. According to him, the success of Mrs. Rawlings in the partys upcoming delegates' congress will help bring a total change in the party.
