Oly Shock Liberty

Accra Great Olympics secured their second victory in the Glo Premiership when they beat city rivals, Liberty Professionals, 1-0 at the El-Wak Stadium, 1-0 at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra yesterday. It was a nerve-racking moment for Olympics fans who had to wait until the 63rd minute when Emmanuel Lartey tapped home the only goal of the game. Emotions had reached their peak with Oly fans who could no longer bear with the numerous missed opportunities by the Olympics attackers, hurling insults on the team and Coach Dauda Lutterodt until the deadlock was broken. Olympics made their first serious attempt at goal on the 12 minute but missed target narrowly, while Bilal Mohammeds penalty appeal was ignored after he was tripped in the Liberty box. The second half saw Olympics dictating the pace before the pattern changed in favour of Liberty, who made a few incursions into the goal area of the homesters but failed to find the net. Fatigue began to set in on the part of Liberty, who easily gave away the ball. But on the 57th minute Libertys substitute, Emmanuel Asare, only watched in dismay as his thunderbolt hit the crossbar, much to the relief of Olympics fans.
