List wins MTN Invitational Golf

Thirteen-year-old youngster, Daniel List returned a net score of 68 to win the maiden MTN Ghana Invitational Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday. List who played 42 Back and 44 Front with a Handicap of 18, swung through a field of 120 crack golfers to register his name as the first youngster and the first to lift the magnificent trophy, which would be competed for every year. J. Vande Vyver took the second position with 69 net, Mike Maguire placed third with 71 net while Walter Capes came fourth with 73 net. Betty Sowah-Allotey won the Ladies segment with 70 net while the second position went to Mona Myles-Lamptey with 71 net. The 'Longest Drive on Hole 17' in the Men's category went to Kelvin Nash while the Ladies category was won by Sowah-Allotey, the Ladies champion. Mr Goschen, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana promised that his company would continue to assist the Club as part of its corporate social responsibilities in the development of sports in the country. He gave the assurance that the company would make the competition an annual affair. Mr Mike Aggrey, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club commended the company for their immense contributions towards the development of the game. He called on other corporate bodies and institutions to come to the aid of the Club in its developmental efforts.
