Two persons lost their lives when a Sprinter Benz, with registration number BA 1457-12, was involved in an accident last Saturday.
According to the Fire Service in Berekum, there were 24 members of the Assemblies of God's Church in Sunyani who were attending a funeral of a bereaved member's father at Drobo in the Jaman South District of Brong Ahafo.
According to the Berekum Municipal Chief Fire Operation Officer, Rev Thomas K. Dzah, one person died on the spot while another, who is the choir master, died later at the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum.
He revealed that there are three other persons who are currently in a critical condition.
He said their investigations revealed that the driver was over speeding when he had a burst tyre. He tried to apply the brake, which resulted in the accident.
"On the Berekum-Sunyani road, majority of the accidents occur between Amanfoso and Kato. I want to appeal to drivers when they get to the place, normally, they attribute the accidents to spirituality but we have found out that most of the accidents are through human error," Rev Dzah revealed.
He admonished drivers who ply the road to drive with care to reduce accidents on the road.
