Akim Swedru PTA donates bungalow to teachers

The Parent- Teacher Association (PTA) of the Akim Swedru Senior High School, has constructed two bungalows to ease the accommodation problems facing the staff. Each of the semi-detached building comprised three bedroom, living rooms, kitchen and toilet facilities. Nana Appiah Twum, Mankrado (Sub-chief) of Akim Etwereso and the Chairman of the PTA expressed the hope that the project would facilitate the quality of teaching and learning to enable the school to compete effectively with other schools. The Very Rev. Abraham Osei-Donkoh, Headmaster of the school thanked the PTA for the kind gesture and recounted earlier assistance offered by the Association to the school, which include a six classroom block, 33 seated-bus and a van. He appealed to public spirited organisations to assist the school with more accommodation facilities to cater for the 70 teaching staff and 1,400 students. Master Adjaw Boateng Obed and Miss Karine Addo, Boys and Girls Prefect respectively, used the occasion to appeal to the Ministry of Education to provide the school with science laboratory equipment and computers to promote information technology.
