Akufo-Addo Greets Muslims

The 2008 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has passed on his best wishes to Muslims in Ghana and across the world as they celebrate the annual Eid Ul-Adha festival. Nana Akufo-Addo noted in a statement released on Thursday; I am privileged to join many other Ghanaians in wishing you a happy Eid ul-Adha celebrations. He notes that, Eid, as we all know, is a celebration of commitment and obedience to God and also of Gods mercy and provision for all of us. It is a time of family, community and charity. He continues; The celebration marks a period of intense devotion and reflection. The rigours undertaken by devout Muslims inspire respect for Islam among people of all faiths, and this can bring hope of greater understanding for goodwill. He concludes; I believe in the possibility of the overflow of old boundaries when whole-hearted devotion to ones own faith is matched with a devout respect for the faith of others, and I call on all our Muslim brothers and sisters to demonstrate continually this sense of unity and oneness in the years ahead.
