Any Christian, Pastor Who Defends Homosexuality Is A Betrayer - Rev. Steve Wengam

The Lead Pastor of the Cedar Mountain Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Dr. Steve Wengam, has made a strong stance that the Church in Ghana will be a force to reckon with when it comes to the issue of legalizing homosexuality in Ghana.

He made it clear on Social Media that Churches will resist every agenda and attempt to legalize same sex marriages adding that the Bible is against the practice.

The issue of legalizing homosexuality caused a stir in Ghana after President Akufo-Addo, during an interview with Al-jazeera, disclosed that Ghana’s stance on ‘gayism’ could change if there is a groundswell of pressure for that to be done.

The president’s comment did not go down well with many Ghanaians who fear that President Akufo-Addo may lead a campaign for the legalization of homosexuality in Ghana.

In a series of Facebook updates on the ‘depressing’ issue, the astute man of God posted: “Any Christian or Pastor who defends any attempt to legalize homosexuality is a BETRAYER of our faith like JUDAS.”

Rev. Wengam reiterated that followers of Christ and Pastors who defend an attempt to legalize homosexuality in the country will be tagged as “betrayers” of the faith like Judas.

He adviced the president to toe the line of the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth, and other notable world leaders as well as countries who have resisted the pressure to permit homosexuality in their countries.

“All Ghanaian presidents and Queen Elizabeth, Kenya, Uganda, Mugabe etc resisted legalizing homosexuality. Prez Nana Addo must do same.”

Expressing worry in another post, Rev Stephen Wengam seemed uncomfortable about the silence of his fellow colleagues in the ministry who, to him, are “delaying in speaking against the suggestion that Ghana will certainly legalize gay marriage oneday.”

He, therefore, admonished Ghanaians to have the courage to “speak out and condemn it irrespective of political affiliation.”
