Graduate Beats Odds To Become Young CEO, Encourages Youth To Be Enterprising

Unemployment has been a major blot on the economic growth of Ghana. For ages, the Ghanaian citizenry, particularly the youth, have been complaining bitterly about the lack of adequate jobs in the country to accommodate the teeming masses.

One would say it's no more news for a person to complete tertiary institution and remain at home or join the Unemployed Association of Ghana - if indeed there is an Association like that - because he/she couldn't fit in the private or public sector due to the country's unemployment rate.

Though successive governments have been developing strategies and initiatives to bridge the gap between the employed and unemployed by creating more jobs, the situation is however not remedied by the numerous social interventions of the government.

This is why a young lady, Sandra Asiedu, has decided to encourage the youth by becoming one of the youngest Chief Executive Officers through establishing her own business.

Sandra Asiedu graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon, and instead of allowing herself to be beaten down by Ghana's employment challenges; she has turned her situation into one that makes her an employer of several people.

"I would like to encourage young people not to solely rely on the government to provide jobs. We can do something with our skills and intelligence. There's risk in every endeavor but we have to venture into the world of business. Though it hasn't been easy for me, I won't give up. I've been doing this since I completed University. It even began when I was on campus. So, yes, it's not easy setting up your own company but instead of staying in the house, doing nothing and hoping government would create a new job; let's look deep inside of us and begin with what we're passionate about", she intimated.

Sandra has set up her own beauty parlour "Final Phase Beauty Services" where she together with her employees enhances the beauty of their patrons.

From parties to weddings and so forth, the “Final Phase” is indeed the final place to go for any kind of beauty treatment. For further information, contact 0244617299.

This is to serve as motivation to the youth knowing that as Sandra is enterprising, you too can become an employer.
