I Will Not Apologise To Chief Imam – Abronye DC

Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser, Kwame Baffoe also known as Abronye DC says he will not apologise for making allegations against the former Regional Minister, Eric Opoku and Alhaji Abdul Kadiri.

Abronye DC had alleged that under the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Alhaji Abdul Kadiri and the former Regional Minister, Eric Opoku had drunk soft drinks to the tune of GHC 50,000 in a single day.

The comments did not go down well with supporters of the Islamic Leader who demanded he retracts and apologises for the allegation but Abronye insists his claims are true.

But Maxwell Mahama, spokesperson of the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh says after he failed to take back his words, the youth group then decided to teach him a lesson and upon hearing he was in the area, decided to give him a beating for denying the claim that the Minister had a hand in his beating.

But speaking on Okay FM, the controversial youth organizer called the bluff of the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, saying he will not apologise for his comments because he has concrete evidence to support his claim.

He expressed dissatisfaction at attempts by some persons to link the alleged assault on him to Muslims.

Abronye DC pointed accusing fingers at the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister and a gentleman by name Jafary Yakubu for insinuating the alleged act was undertaken by some Muslims in Atebubu.

He is of the firm conviction that Mr. Asomah Cheremeh is the one behind calls on him to apologise, adding that he will not be forced to apologise since he has no problem with the Chief Imam and Muslims at large.

“How can they ask me to apologise to the Chief Imam when all my allegations are accurate. I won’t apologise to anyone and no one can force me. I know the Regional Minister is behind all that and that is why I won’t be swayed into his tricks”, he insisted.

“I have no problems with the Imam and muslims in Atebubu. In fact, they gave me a rousing welcome when I was discharged from the hospital and so how could they have asked me to apologise if indeed what I said was true. I won’t apologise to anyone” he noted.
Abronye DC was mercilessly beaten and his car destroyed by some hoodlums on January 13, 2018, when he was leaving the residence of the Atebubu-Amantin DCE having met with some party members in relation to his national executive campaign bid.

He was subsequently rushed to and admitted at the Duayaw Nkwanta Catholic Hospital after he suffered a fracture and shoulder dislocation from the beatings.
