I'll Tell The Story At The Right Time Of My Little Issue With GN Bank - Adongo

Bolga Central MP Isaac Adongo has said no attempts by his political opponents to silence him will work except death.

In a short statement on rumours that he is highly indebted to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Mr Adongo said: “My company ceased to be a going concern several years ago and has no business interest to warrant any audit.

“There is absolutely no tax audit against me or my non-operating company and I have no indebtedness to SSNIT.”

He urged his constituents to “be assured that there is no court case against me and there will be none,” adding that: “I am focused on the task ahead of me.”

In the next couple of days, Mr Adongo promised, “I will expose serious rots and incompetencies of this clueless government.”

“I ask for your continuous prayers for my life as that is the only thing they can take from me to silence me. Book a date and mark the date for the debate that will ensue from the President’s state of the nation address to parliament,” he said.

Apart from the SSNIT issue, Mr Adongo has been in the news for defaulting on a loan he took from GN Bank. GN Bank Limited published the lawmaker’s name as one of 80 of its clients who have defaulted in paying various loans.

The publication was made by GN Bank in the state-owned Daily Graphic.

Mr Adongo’s name and picture appear as the 13th on the list of GN Bank’s loan defaulters. IA Corporate Support Services Limited is written by his portrait. The bank directed Mr Adongo to contact its North Ridge branch “to settle your outstanding credit facility.”

Investigations by classfmonline.com indicate that IA Corporate Support Services Limited, which belongs to Mr Adongo, took a loan of GHS25,000 from GN Bank in the past and paid some of it.

It is, however, not clear how much of the loan was paid by IA Corporate Support Services Limited and how much is left to be paid.

Addressing that issue, Mr Adongo said: “For the small issue of GN Bank, I will tell a story at the right time.”

Below is Mr Adongo's full statement:

I wish to assure the cherished people of Bolgatanga Central Constituency, the NDC fraternity and all my fans to disregard the failed attempt by elements opposed to my tough and courageous fight to ensure that the Government delivers to the people of Ghana.

My company ceased to be a going concern several years ago and has no business interest to warrant any audit. There is absolutely no tax audit against me or my non-operating company and I'm not indebted to SSNIT.

Please be assured that there is no court case against me and there will be none, by the Grace of the Almighty. I am focused on the task ahead of me. In the next couple of days, I will expose serious rots and the incompetence of this clueless Government.

I ask for your continuous prayer for my long life and great health since that is the only avenue through which they can silence me, if they have the ability.

In the meantime, I entreat you to make a date for the debate that will ensue from the President's state of the nation's address to parliament.

As for the little issue with GN Bank, I will tell a story at the right time.
