GFA Should Not Give Up On Balotelli -Tony Baffoe

Former Black Stars defender Tony Baffoe has suggested that the Ghana Football Association should invite Inter Milan sensational striker Mario Balotelli to the country. This comes after the national team coach Milovan Rajevac failed in his attempt to lure Balotelli to the Black Stars after his much publicised visit to Italy last week. The 19 year old whose parents hail from Ghana was raised by an Italian family after he was put up for adoption at the age of three. Balotelli has openly made it clear he wants to play for the Italian national team despite several racists attacks on him by sections of the Italian populace. In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, former Black Stars defender Tony Baffoe who grew up in Germany admitted that the teenager is going through a difficult period in his life but says the Ghana Football Association should not relent in its efforts. Tony Baffoe said, I suggest that we invite him to our beautiful country, just invite him so that he gets to know about us, for people to see him, how they cheer him up, how they love football, for him to go through these emotions. The former FC Kln player added that So its up to him now to find the switch because I have experienced it before, people throwing banana at you, spitting at me but I was mentally very strong."And then we will see how he reacts. Tony Baffoe is also of the opinion that Balotelli could become a world class player if he is disciplined enough. He is an excellent player, if he really understands the word discipline he can be a world class player he said, playing with Inter Milan says it all and he has one of the best coaches in the world, Jose Mourinho. Baffoe revealed that Sulley Muntari has spoken to him, Stephen Appiah has done the same thing, and the coach (Milovan Rajevat) has also gone there. This is a good effort for us to show we want you, but its now up to him to make the decision" Im sure, excuse me to say his white adoptive parents dont want it but he has to know he is from this continent, he is from Africa. He said.
