Ursula Owusu Threatens To Sue A Plus If...

Communications Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has threatened a legal suit against controversial musician Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly called A Plus.

The Minister has taken serious exceptions to some statements that A Plus reportedly made on his Facebook wall accusing her of being "corrupt" and further imputing to Ghanaians that "Kwesi Nyantakyi is only being sacrificed to cover up the 89/178 million dollars GVG Kelni stinking scandal".

He is also quoted to have accused Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful to be involved in "some shady deals at the Communications Ministry and NCA".

The Minister, through her Counsel "Safo and Marfo@Law", has given A Plus an ultimatum of three (3) days to "render unqualified apology in the same medium and prominence in the manner that your libelous publication was done" and retract his statements or will be dragged to court to "vindicate our client's rights without any further recourse to you".

The solicitors, in a statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, stated emphatically that the Sector Minister "has not involved herself in any corrupt or shady deal at the Communications Ministry".

"We are informed that you (A Plus) have published series of defamatory statements on Facebook about our client ostensibly to tarnish her hard won reputation and to reduce her image in the eyes of right thinking members of society...We are instructed to notify you that our client takes a serious view of your defamatory publication on Facebook and would not hesitate to commence legal action against you if the said publication is not retracted on or before Friday, 1st June, 2018.

"Please be informed that if you fail to retract and apologize to our client on or before Friday, 1st June, 2018, we shall proceed to court..." the statement read.
