Idikoko Speaks to GTV

Idikoko, a renowned movie actor says the use of local dialects in Ghanaian movies in recent times has made it possible for Ghanaian movies to reach wider. This he says has led to an increase in the patronage of Ghanaian movies. The Ghanaian movie industry has suffered greatly due to influx of foreign movies. To make matters worse, most of the movies are in the English language making it impossible for many to fully appreciate the movie. But the trend is changing. Now, the use of the local dialect in Ghanaian movies is gaining prominence. In a chat with GTV News, Idikoko, a renowned movie actor said there is evidence that more people are being reached because of the use of the local dialect in Ghanaian movies now. Idikoko, whose real name is Augustine Abbey is a qualified accountant but that is in the back-burner now.
