Why Do You Want To Unmask Anas?

That ours is a country that is corrupt is not in doubt. One does not need to conduct any research to come to that conclusion because we eat, drink and sleep corruption. Many persons pretend to be patriotic and incorruptible because they know it is very difficult to be caught ‘in flagrante delicto’ (right in the act). They claim incorruptibility by joining the chorus, “The name of the game is evidence.”

With this in mind, the most effective way to put sunlight on corruption, which is mostly done in secret, is to engage in undercover investigations to unravel nocturnal activities of corrupt persons in society. And that is exactly what Anas Aremeyaw Anas is doing.

The name Anas does not sound strange to many in this country. Even people beyond the shores of this country know the name and are familiar with his undercover activities. Indeed, it is one name that sends shivers down many spines in this country and beyond.

Abusuapanin, anyone who has ever watched any of Anas’ videos would wonder the extent he could go to expose the nefarious activities of nation-wreckers. He has risked his life on many occasions to bring many criminals to book. His investigations in Ghana on Cocoa, CEPS and Osu Children’s Home, are but a few examples that come to mind. His albino investigations in Tanzania and that on quack doctors in Nigeria also deserve special mention.

METHODOLGY

Many have, however, questioned the ethics of his methodology. Despite agreeing that all his revelations have been beneficial to society, they still maintain his modus operandi is unethical. They argue that baiting people to commit criminal acts and recording them in the process is anything but ethical.

But his supporters disagree. They argue that many, including the judges and care-givers at Osu Children’s Home, were not baited to commit their corrupt acts. They say it is only persons who are already neck-deep in their respective nefarious activities who will fall for the baiting strategy.

FACELESS ANAS

Who is Anas? It is a question asked many times by many of Anas’ compatriots. Yes, it is a household name, but many cannot put a face to it. That is what intrigues his compatriots, Yours truly inclusive.

I’ve had the privilege of speaking to two people who know him very well and they say the life Anas lives is not one that they envy. They described the extreme measures he usually took to ensure his own safety.

Their observation was corroborated by Sampson Lardy Anyenini, host of Newsfile, on his programme last Saturday. He said he once travelled with Anas and he was amazed at the extent Anas went to protect his identity. Sampson re-echoed the fact that the life of faceless Anas is not one to be envied at all.

HON. KEN AGYAPONG’S BEEF

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, is the latest to criticize Anas and he happens to be his fiercest critic so far. He says if allowed to continue, Anas would one day reveal the ‘bedmatic’ bouts in the bedroom between people and their spouses. He did not only question Anas’ methodology, but also cast doubt on his integrity. Hon. Ken has subsequently levelled many allegations against him, but is yet to substantiate any of them. Until he brings his proof, they are nothing but unsubstantiated ALLEGATIONS.

UNMASKING ANAS

Hon. Ken did also vow to unmask the masked Anas in order to demystify his mysterious nature. He actualized his words by releasing some pictures of the so-called masked Anas. I’m reliably informed that none of the pictures is that of the real Anas.

Am I surprised? No, I’m not? For a man with over 140 prosthetic faces, it is not surprising to see many pictures being connected to him.

NAGGING QUESTIONS

Some questions have been nagging my mind since Hon. Ken started his crusade against Anas. Why the vilification and name-calling? Where is the proof of Anas’ corrupt nature? What at all is Hon. Ken’s desire in making sure that Anas is unmasked? Could it be that there are skeletons dangling in his closet? Could it also be that he truly has proof of Anas’ nocturnal deals? If yes, where is the proof

MY TAKE

I stand with the truth. Anas has over the years proven to be incorruptible. So I stand with him until I see proof that points to the contrary. I therefore entreat him to be steadfast in his fight against corruption. (I deliberately shied away from commenting on the Nyantakyi saga until I see the NUMBER 12 video.)

As for Hon. Ken, I have a very simple question for him. Why are you afraid of rat traps, when you claim to be an elephant?

I hope to see you next week for another interesting konkonsa, Deo volente!
