#Number12: Nyantakyi Cannot Resign – Mornah

The National Chairman of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has shot down calls for the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwasi Nyantakyi, to resign.

Ghanaians who stormed the Accra International Conference Centre Wednesday evening to watch the latest investigative piece on Ghana football dubbed: #number12 have called for the immediate resignation of Mr. Nyantakyi.

The FA Boss was caught on the latest investigative masterpiece bragging to some supposed investors about how he could help them to induce officials of the ruling government including The President with money to secure contracts in the country.

President Akufo-Addo has since reported the conduct of Mr. Nyantakyi to the Criminal Investigations Department and has been subsequently charged with defrauding by false pretense.

Many, after watching the premiere of the investigative piece, called on the football kinpin to resign but Mr. Mornah contends that the call for the resignation of Mr. Nyantakyi is misplaced.

The GFA president, according to him has nothing to do with the rot unearthed regarding the game in the country.

“…I think that the GFA presidency has nothing to do with particularly most of the revelations,I don’t think that as GFA President we can say that he [Kwasi Nyantakyi] took monies to compromise the FA. Whatever monies he took, he was going to influence President Nana Akufo-Addo and His government. That’s clear,” he added.

However, he noted that Mr. Nyantakyi can decide to resign based on his own morals.
