Ousted GPHA Boss Bids Farewell

The ousted Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mr. Paul Asare Ansah has handed over the management of the Authority to the Director of Tema Port, Edward Osei.

Sources at the GPHA told Graphic Online that the handing over took place on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 after Mr Ansah met and had an interaction with senior managers of the Authority as well as heads of other affiliate Business Units of the GPHA such as the International Maritime Hospital and Tema Shipyard.

This happened moments after he received his termination letter, the sources said.

It would be recalled that a letter from the Presidency terminated Mr Ansah's appointment and directed him to hand over by Friday, June 8, 2018.

According sources at the meeting, senior managers of the Authority commended the outgoing Director-General for his contribution to the organisation since he took over as Director-General describing him as resourceful and outstanding.

Mr Ansah was said to have advised the management to remain calm and contribute their best to ensure high performance.

The Director General at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), Mr Paul Asare Ansah was relieved of his post in the letter, which was signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President and dated June 5, 2018.

The letter directed him to hand over to the current Director of Tema Port, Edward Osei who will oversee Affairs of the Port Authority until a substantive Director-General is appointed.

No reason was given for the termination of the appointment.
