‘Who Watches The Watchman VIDEO: COP Adu-Poku Expresses Shock At Allegation

Former Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Frank Adu-Poku, has denied taking any money from journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The retired police officer said he had a sterling career and would not do anything to dent that.

The investigative journalist in a video released by controversial politician Kennedy Agyepong christened, ‘Who Watches the Watchman’, is heard in a conversation with a state prosecutor alleging he gave the former CID boss, COP Adu-Poku, $75,000.

Responding to the contents of the conversation on Adom FM, Thursday, COP Adu-Poku expressed shock at the allegation.

"I have never received any money from Anas. I worked as a police officer for 30 years and I have an unblemished record so Anas cannot use seconds to destroy it," he said in Twi.

COP Adu-Poku was certain Anas will offer an explanation which will exonerate him.

"I’m sure by the end of the day Anas will come out to clear me. I’m innocent," he stressed in the local dialect.

He will, however, not disclose whether he knows the journalist personally, insisting he was talking to his lawyers about the development.
