Modern Salt Industry Soon For Ada - President

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed that government had moved to draw investment to develop the Ada Songhor salt project into a modern salt industry.

He said Government was collaborating with stake holders to ensure that the project, which would generate revenue and create needed jobs, became a reality.

The President made the disclosure when he addressed the Chiefs and people of the Ada traditional Area at this year's Asafotufiami festival-a Ga Adangbe warriors’ festival- at Ada in the greater Accra region.

He was positive that the move which was consistent with his administration’s commitment to effective mobilization and utilization of the country’s resources for development, fed into the Ghana beyond Aid vision.

President Akufo-Addo was optimistic that when Ghana’s natural resources were exploited effectively, “I am unequivocal in my belief that we can create in our generation a confident and prosperous nation”.

Government, he said was determined to ensure an equitable distribution of the country’s resources to develop the entire Ga Adangbe area,  and bring prosperity and progress to all other parts of the country in a balanced and inclusive manner,  irrespective of the peoples political colouration.

Thus, his government, he said, had since assuming power, had ensured a stable macro economy and put in measures to formalise the economy, reducing the cost of doing business and improved the business environment.

“I know we are not out of the woods yet, but I can assure you, that our nation is on the right path“, he said

He implored the Ada East and Ada West Assemblies, as well as the Ada Traditional Council, to come up with viable strategies to harness the vast potentials of the area for the betterment of the people.
