Whereas the mention of the name Anas brings shivers down the spines of persons he names, shames and get jailed for doing wrong in society, another has allowed himself to be outsmarted by fraudsters and as a result lost some money.
Anas Salifu of Kassana in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region, claimed he received a call from some persons informing him he has won GH¢ 65,000 after taking part in a World Cup bet.
To access the stated amount, he was required to deposit an amount of GH¢300.
“Whiles I was in the garden doing some work, a call came in telling him he had won GH¢ 65,000 for taking part in text competition during the last World Cup and should therefore transfer GH¢ 150 into a mobile money account which I did twice all alone”, he revealed to Tumu-based Radford FM.
According to him, he was asked to deposit another GH¢700 but he could not realize the said amount and tried seeking the assistance of a colleague only to dawn on him that he has been duped by mobile money fraudsters.
Anas revealed that he tried reaching the bandits on the number he transferred the cash to but till date he has been unable to track them down in order to retrieve his money.
