KMA implements projects under DDF

Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) on Tuesday performed the ceremony for work to begin on three projects under the Assembly's District Development Facility (DDF). These included the construction of a 12-unit classroom block for Saint Louis Senior High School (SHS) a clinic at Apatrapa and a sanitation facility with mechanized borehole for the Boadi basic school. The total cost is put at GH�374,571 and is part of the GH�2,143,278 received by the KMA from the Government as its reward for good governance. Mr. Sarpong accompanied by some heads of departments and assembly members also inspected the construction work on a kindergarten block with ancillary facilities for the Opoku Ware basic school at Santasi,a suburb of Kumasi. The MCE said 23 boreholes would be sunk in the metropolis through the DDF at a cost GH�291,183. The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) would also build additional classrooms for both JHS and SHS and expand health, water and sanitation facilities. Mr. Sarpong said attention would be given to human resource development. He demanded from contractors awarded the job to ensure that there was value for money and keep to time schedules.
