Akufo-Addo Must Stop Talking About 'Failed' 1-District 1-Factory Policy – Ade Coker

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC], Joseph Ade Coker says government should stop contradicting itself with the true information concerning the 1-District 1-Factory policy.

According to him, the President must stop talking about the ‘failed’ policy and find ways and means of putting it back on track.

He said the project is a laudable one, but the direction needed to fulfill the dream has turned into a political gimmick.

“Nothing about it is in progress, but we keep hammering it every now and then because it is a political promise, when there are so many already operating factories in distress that needs attention or face-lifting,” he said.

In an interview with UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper panel discussion programme, Ade Coker advised government to identify collapsing factories and reshape them to fit their -District -Factory purpose.

Discussing a call by AFAG on government for completion of uncompleted projects started by previous governments, Ade Coker noted that “every government in power must understand governance is a continuous affair because one government cannot do it all”.

“Let’s stop the back-biting and pave the way to continue past projects. Party supporters should be ignored as leaders take up good leadership responsibilities to embark on developmental projects ignoring all forms of criticisms, because they will at all cost come,” he added.
