Ashanti Regional Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Akwasi has issued a stern warning to his colleague on the other side of the political divide, Bernard Antwi Boasiako to stay off the case of the opposition party or have him (Akwasi) to contend with.

He reiterated that Chairman Wontumi as he is politically called has exceeded his grace period of misbehaviour towards the main opposition NDC, and under his [Nana Akwasi’s] reign as NDC Ashanti Regional, Wontumi's “nonsense” will not be countenance any longer.

“...what I am telling Wontumi is that, he can misbehave and throw his tantrums at other places but certainly he should not bring it on the NDC in the Ashanti Region, otherwise things will be messy in this region for both of us. We will pay him back in his own coin; we are prepared to go to every length”, he warned.

The NDC's Ashanti Regional Chairman’s fury is borne out of the comment made by Chairman Wontumi saying he (Wontumi) will engineer the second coming of former President John Dramani Mahama in the NDC Flagbearership race, but will further see to it that Mahama's dream of being President again is crushed and stampled upon like a rose.

“I, Chairman Wontumi, pledge to make things easier for Mahama in the impending NDC flagbearership race. I will ensure he wins the contest without any glitch. I have conducted my own research and I know the other candidates in the race wouldn’t want the ‘Incompentent King” to face Akufo-Addo in 2020. But Mahama is our target, we want to make him a scapegoat again and teach him he is a loser”, the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman said.

Reacting on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Nana Akwasi angrily stated; "we respect ourselves and the rule of law but it does not mean we should tolerate his misbehaviour; that won’t ever happen. We will not start the fight but I tell him, if he makes the attempt and makes any move, we will retaliate in the same measure...if he comes with dignity and honour, we will tow the same line.".

The NDC Chair lambasted the self-acclaimed “Ashanti Governor” saying he has no credibility in his own party, asserting that Chairman Wontumi would have lost his chairmanship if referendum yes or no has been used to elect again.

“If there has been yes or no vote on Wontumi, he would have lost the chairmanship...Wontumi was appointed as NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman and that is why he is shouting and screaming in town”, he jabbed.

He was of the firm belief that Ghanaians will favour his party to come back to power to end the suffering Akufo-Addo government has subjected them to.

“Ghanaians are now aware of the lies of the NPP which brought them to power and they can deduce the difference between the NDC and the NPP in terms of performance and good governance”, he asserted.
