NDC Delegates In Crash

SOME DELEGATES of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are battling for their lives following a car accident they encountered on their way to the National Delegates’ Congress of the party at the Trade Fair Center in Accra on Saturday.

According to the national organizer of the party, Kofi Adams, the accident occurred at the traffic light at the El-Wak Sports Stadium prior to the congress on Saturday afternoon.

It’s not clear what actually caused the accident but reports indicated that the vehicle that conveyed delegates and supporters from Mpraeso in the Eastern Region and Konongo in the Ashanti Region to the venue encountered brake failure, and in an attempt to avoid crashing into other vehicles, the driver rammed into one of the traffic lights after veering off the road.

However, the severity of injuries was not immediately known but reports indicated that the injured delegates could not cast their votes.

The injured persons were said to have been rushed to the 37 Military Hospital and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital for medical attention.

Immediately the news broke, former President John Dramani Mahama left the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair together with his former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to visit the accident victims before returning to cast his vote.
