WAEC Authorities Should Be Punished For Any Leaked Questions - WASA East MP

Member of Parliament for Wasa East, Isaac Agyei Mensah has called on government and authorities in the education sector to put punitive measures in place to avoid leakage of examination questions to students writing West African Senior School Certificate Examinations.

Making his submissions on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' on Thursday, Hon. Agyei Mensah told host Nana Yaw Kesseh that it is about time authorities of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) are held responsible for any leakage of examination questions.

He found it disturbing that whenever questions are leaked, students are the ones to suffer for the irresponsible behaviour of the WAEC authorities who are the real problem.

Though advising students not to crave leaked examination questions since it could potentially jeopardize their future ambitions, Hon. Agyei Mensah however noted that the students shouldn't take the fall but rather the authorities whose negligence led to the situation should be sanctioned.

"WAEC should also be held responsible . . . It appears no authority has been punished yet. We're watching critically and going forward, thorough investigations will be held to expose any official whose negligence results in such incident and ensure he/she is dealt with accordingly," he said.
