Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that a teacher at the Salaga Senior High School (SHS) in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region has shot and wounded one Mohammed Abdul-Rauf, 19.
Mohammed Abdul-Rauf, a student of the school, sustained multiple gunshot wounds on both legs.
The victim informed the Salaga Police that he was shot by one Asuma Sulley, a teacher in his school.
The victim was subsequently treated and discharged at the Salaga District Hospital.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that the victim and his colleagues were suspended by the school for smoking Marijuana ‘Wee’ in the bush nearby the school.
Last weekend, the victim and his suspended colleagues, who attended an entertainment programme, were seen on campus by the school cadets who informed the teacher.
Mr. Asuma Sulley stormed the campus but the suspended students quickly vacated the school’s premises.
He later met them on the way and confronted them, resulting in the shooting of the victim.
The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Yusif Mohammed Tanko, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said efforts are underway to apprehend the teacher to assist in investigations.
