Nzemahene rallies support for Planting for Food and Jobs

Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo, the Chief of Nzema in the Ashanti Region has charged his subjects to participate in the government's flagship Planting for Food and Jobs programme whatever way they can in order to improve their economic and nutritional wellbeing.

According to the popular ruler, the Planting for Food and Jobs programme is one of the easiest ways one can make money, stressing that it does not require too much resources to participate.

He said with the support of government in the areas of improved seeds, fertilizer and extension services, every Ghanaian can easily participate in farming either for commercially or subsistence purposes.

Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo made the call when he distributed food items such as rice (local), plantain, chicken and others to his subjects as part of activities marking this year's festivities.

The benevolent act by the popular Chief is a yearly activity aimed at bringing smiles on the faces of particularly the less privileged in the society.

Hundreds of residents living in Nzema and its environs thronged his palace on Wednesday to benefit from the largesse.

Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo therefore challenged his subjects to turn their fortunes around by joining the government's PFJ programme, adding "next by this time I want each and every one of you to bring me foodstuffs from his PFJ farms"

The beneficiaries meanwhile could not hide their joy and excitement for the magnanimous gesture, showering praises and blessings upon the Chief and asking for divine guidance and protection for him.
