Ghana's Djarbeng to fight Kongo in UK on February 1

Richmond Djarbeng, a Ghanaian Welterweight boxer is set to battle Chris Kongo, from the United Kingdom, in a ten round International Welterweight contest at the Wembley Arena in London, on Saturday, February 23.

The bout, put together by Icon Sports Promotions has been sanctioned as the final eliminator for the Commonwealth title in the division and would be televised live on UK lTV as a supporting bout for the Chris Eubank Jnr vs James Degale bout.

Djarbeng, had previously made an attempt for the Commonwealth title with an excellent performance against Jefi Horn in Australia.

The British Boxing Board of Control has sanctioned the fight in accordance with its regulations.

Djarbeng, is a professional boxer of international class and recognition, with record stands at 29 wins, three losses and one draw.

He is expected to leave the shores of Ghana on February 18 with Mr Ebenezer Adjei, his trainer and Mr Masuwudu Issaka, a cutman.
