Turkish topflight side, Fenerbahce, have decided against extending the contract of their Ghanaian midfielder, Andre Ayew, at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old who made a switch from English side, Swansea to Fenerbahce early this season has not produced the desired result for the club.

According to Turkish outlet Sabah, Fenerbahce would ship back the midfielder to his English side after failing to justify his €17m loan deal.

Ayew has since been declared surplus to requirement having scored only four goals and one assist in 22 appearances in all competition this season and this has not helped the club out of their relegation battle this season.

Fenerbahce have 17 points from 18 games and are languishing on the 15th position on the 18 club league.

Report indicates that manager, Ersun Yanal, has already contacted Ayew to inform him about his plans for the club in future with Ayew having no place in that plans.

Ayew whose contract with the English club runs until 2021 is, therefore, expected to return to the Liberty Stadium at the end of the season.
