#NDCdecides: Voting Ends At Bodi; Mahama Polls 95% . . . But Party Claim It's False

Information gathered by Peacefmonline.com indicates that, voting has ended at the Bodi constituency in Juabeso District of the Western Region of Ghana in the ongoing NDC’s flagbearer race.

Main contender, John Dramani Mahama polled 608 votes out of the 641 valid votes cast in a provisional results.

That represents 95% of valid votes. The other six contenders polled 5% votes.

Final results from the Bodi Constituency in the Western Region, where polls have closed at least five hours before official closing time, see the former President beating his six challengers.

Voting starts at 7am and officially ends at 5pm according the rules by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.

According to PEACE FM’s reporter in the constituency, Appiah Dankwa, the votes were counted after all eligible delegates came to cast their ballots and also agreed on by all aspirant's agents for ballots to be counted ahead of time because there was nothing to be done.

Bodi is located in the Juabeso District of the Western Region of Ghana.

Sampson Ahi is the Member of Parliament of the constituency.

The Race

About 260,000 delegates across all 275 constituencies plus three specially-created polling stations are expected to cast their ballots.

Delegates include branch executives, constituency executives, regional executives; regional council of elders, MPs, former government appointees and founding members will have their say in Ghana’s most novel internal party primary.

Seven members of the party are vying for the single slot to battle the ruling New Patriotic Party in the 2020 elections.

Those involved are former president John Mahama, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin, former Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi.

Te rest are: former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr Sylvester Mensah, a cadre, Mr Goosie Tanoh and businessman, Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu.
