Anas Expose’ On IMCIM: Government To Investigate

Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that government will undertake a thorough investigation into the latest documentary by Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposing alleged corruption among some staff of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining, IMCIM.

He was briefing journalists in Accra on Thursday 28th February 2019.

 “Government will have the said tapes properly investigated using the raw unedited footage and if any persons are found to have solicited monies or taken bribes to bend rules, the necessary action will be taken” he said.

The Minister further reiterated that government welcomes any effort aimed at assisting in succeeding in the fight against illegal small scale mining.

Yesterday Tiger Eye PI owned by Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas released a trailer of a latest expose on illegal mining titled “Galamsey Fraud Part 1” which captured some staff and officers of the IMCIM allegedly taking bribes.
