One person has died in a bloody clash between two rival youth groups at Fadama in Accra within the Ookaikwei North municipality.
The Assembly has had to suspend its activities for the 62nd-anniversary celebration of Ghana’s independence billed for the Fadama Cluster of Schools on Wednesday, 6 March 2019, as a result of the violence.
In a statement signed by the Municipal Chief Executive Boye Laryea, the Assembly said: “This has become necessary due to simmering tension between two youth factions which has already resulted in the death of one [person].
“The Municipal Assembly finds the venue for the celebration unsafe, as it is within the same vicinity that the youth groups clashed”.
